Wikipedia - FC Linköping City
FC Linköping City was a Swedish professional football club based in Linköping, affiliated with the Östergötlands Fotbollförbund.
The club was founded around New Years Day of 2013, replacing FK Linköping in the Swedish football league system for the 2013 season.
The club was dissolved in 2022.
History
The club was founded in a merger between FK Linköping and FC Syrianska, with the goal to get football in Linköping to a higher level. When FC Linköping City was created, it took the place of FK Linköping in the Swedish football league system. The club started playing in Division 3 Nordöstra Götaland, which is the fifth tier of Swedish football. They started playing their home matches at Folkungavallen in Linköping, before moving to the new Linköping Arena in autumn 2013. FC Linköping City are affiliated with the Östergötlands Fotbollförbund.
El club fue fundado como BK Kenty, pero en 2007 cambió su nombre a FC Linköping City. El club ha jugado en la División 1 Norra desde 2010, y su mejor resultado fue un segundo puesto en la temporada 2013.
El FC Linköping City tiene una rivalidad con el IFK Norrköping, otro club de la ciudad de Linköping. Los dos clubes se han enfrentado en varias ocasiones en la División 1 Norra, y los partidos entre ellos suelen ser muy reñidos.
El FC Linköping City juega sus partidos en el Linköping Arena, un estadio con capacidad para 8.500 espectadores. El estadio fue inaugurado en 2013 y es uno de los estadios más modernos de Suecia.
El FC Linköping City es un club ambicioso que aspira a ascender a la Superettan, la segunda división del fútbol sueco. El club cuenta con un equipo joven y talentoso, y tiene todas las herramientas necesarias para lograr su objetivo.
